Ok, +eDDie TK, yes, it's natural… it's Cinder Cone in Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California. … a rather strange volcanic oddity where the eruption spewed rocks, gravel and ash that mostly fell right back down, creating this 750-ft tall 'mountain' of volcanic rocks, with a deep cone-shaped 'hole' in the center. Take a look at the other photo in this album for the before-the-hike-up view. It's a strenuous hike on the path that has been made since every step forward is followed by sliding back half-a-step in the loose gravel…but worth the climb.
way cooool – where and what is this – natural – mine ?????
+eDDie TK… wordless for Wednesday… I'll give details on Thursday 😉

thanks +Dave Bell so this is at the top of it – the cone ??? – i've heard about lassen, but really never see pics of it
Yes, +eDDie TK this is from the top. You can walk down into the deep hole.
+Dave Bell sweeet – can you get swallowed up with the sand ????
It's not that fine… more like what you'd find on a gravel road, and even a bit larger.
