Our front-yard camellias start blooming in January…and they're still going strong. Always a lovely sight as I head out or back from the driveway.
Once in a while we get a near-perfect bloom.

Although many things are dormant this time of year, our front-yard Camellias think that January is the perfect time to show their stuff.
I always think to myself… 'Where flowers are blooming, spring can't be that far away…'
. It's been a while since I've posted anything here. Chronic headache has kept me completely worn out. Latest diagnosis is that I'm leaking….leaking cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Not confirmed yet, but on Jan 18 they did a lumbar puncture with CT scan to see if they could find a leak. As of yet, no results from my doctors.

Help me identify

I'm not very good at identifying birds, but this must be a seagull.
I spotted it just last week drinking from the mouth of this stream and, it was just a few yards from the sea.

If you ever visit Sitka, AK, take a stroll down the Totem Trail and you might just see a bunch of seagulls like this one.

Hey, This is NOT my Best Side!

I've been absent for G+ for quite a while. Many of you know about my eye injury a bit over a year ago. 7 surgeries later I'm still struggling with learning to use my left (non-dominant) eye, and keep the right covered (as it is very sensitive to light, but provides no usable vision). I've just been referred to a pain management neurologist to see if we can knock down the constant headache.

It's weird, I can't "see" things the same with the left eye. I can search for something in a room…not see it, and my wife will say "it's right THERE!".
I think it has also affected my ability to "see" things interesting to shoot. I know. Weird.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

The Locker Room

Well, ok, it's just a hallway at my old high school which is kind of the opposite side of the school from the gym, but one of these was my locker 35 years ago (don't ask me which one!).
We had a great time catching up on each other's lives, it's a shame how we get ourselves all spread about the country.
