I finangled things around to figure out how to get the camera on the back of a Celestron 1400 telescope to catch larger objects (it acts like a 4000mm f/11 lens), but I'm still trying to figure out the pieces to go beyond using it as 'prime' (the camera is directly attached to the back of the scope).
Saturn looks pretty small even at this magnification.

but you can see Saturn 🙂
When I still had my 600D, I could use the 10x digital magnification on my 135mm kit lens and make out the first four moons of Jupiter. A real mind blown moment for me:)
Good progress! Now you need to add some 'gain'!
+Dave Edge I could see Saturn in the viewfinder, but rings barely visible in the little blob at 100% on the image.
+John Balboni I found a 12X 'Barlow' but couldn't figure out how to get the parts together properly between the scope and the camera body.
Probably missing an adapter ring … the fun of 'optical plumbing'. Or, you could have duct taped it together!
