There is a 3800-acre fire burning about 6 miles north of where I live, and Cal Fire is using our college's small airport as a staging area for helicopter activities as 1000 firefighters work to contain the wildfire.
Praying for those who have been evacuated from their homes and are waiting to find out whether they'll still be there when they return.
This Cal Fire chopper was landing in Angwin and appeared to be swapping out some personnel.

Yeah, the "Butts Canyon Rd" name has always made people smile a bit, but this is one serious fire.
I saw diffused smoke when running around earlier today – I wonder if it was from that. It was north of me, but hard to tell if east or west.
Scary stuff. My sister-in-law and family were half a mile from one of the Carlsbad fires recently and my nephew was evacuated from his school.

Probably was, +Elizabeth Hahn, they say that the smoke plume is visible from San Jose, so I imagine that haziness is visible from even farther.
