Cruisin' the Coastline

———————————–
This is about 1968, Mission Bay, San Diego. Dad rented a small fishing boat for a bit cruising…. I'm in the boat somewhere (about 5 yrs old), and dad's holding the camera… but I love this pic of mom and my two older brothers. Aren't those sunglasses awesome?
While out on the bay we actually came upon a dazed elderly man floating next to his upside-down fishing skiff…we pulled him in and took him to shore..

  1. The hats are what make this picture… no, I take that back. The elephants on the blouse she is wearing. I love how she is looking off; this entire picture is so "Sunday afternoon by the Lake"….:-)

  2. +Mark Rodriguez yes, that gaze into the distance communicates calm and security to me…
+Angelika Perry she loved to sew and was forever searching out material with interesting patterns. She made nearly all her own dresses until arthritis made it difficult. We lost her to a terrible degenerative disease in 2005.
+Isabelle Fortin & +Mark Rodriguez now that you point it out, I definitely see the cinematism (is that a word? 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  3. I always admired people that can sew and stitch things together +Dave Bell  ; its a great gift to have. I didn't get that lucky.
Sorry to hear you had to loose he to such horrible disease; I know how it feels t; I lost my mother to lung cancer last year.
