This shot holds a special place in my heart because it was my very first attempt to actually 'do' HDR, about 4 years ago. I'm sure it could be improved with reprocessing…and many of my attempts since then have been 'learning' experiences like Edison 'discovering' how NOT to make a lightbulb…but I've also been pleased with the successes!

I like it,;) when I take pictures. I take what I like. When I process, I do it the way I like it.
So you like this, I like it. How could it be better?
+lynn hughes This was processed nearly 4 years ago (if I'm recalling correctly)… if I were to redo it, I would get rid of some of the halos around the edges of where the building meets the sky… I might also play with different anti-ghosting options for the moving people..
Very nice shot, a lot better then my first attempt! +Dave Bell
HDR is fun and very handy for better dynamic range, but I will say that some of the new sensors coming out allow you to push the dynamic range and get almost as good-if-not-better results than bracketing. I will use the Nikon D7100 for example, crazy dynamic range!
Thanks, +Ryan W …. I do agree that the newer sensors can really do some amazing things, and I have definitely done a number of shots with my 6D that would have required bracketing with my 50D.
I just bought a D7100. I have not tried HDR yet.
But I do want to try. And I know the first try will not look good,;)
Just jump in, +lynn hughes, the water is fine. Check out Trey's free tutorial at http://stuckincustoms.com
I sent you an invite +Dave Bell ,;))
Thanks! I'm in!
