Two years ago today was an epic day for me.

My wife and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my 50th birthday, and we had the privilege of visiting +Karen Hutton at her lovely home next to a small lake near Truckee, CA.
Conditions were perfect as a thunderstorm brewed in the distance as the sun dipped in the west. Karen and I set up tripods side by side and captured the continual evolution of the light. The lightning was a lucky bonus.
I love seeing Karen's documenting of the ever-changing conditions on 'Hutton Pond', but I always enjoy the privilege of her company even more. Thanks for all the joy you bring to people through your lovely art, my friend!

It’s time to add your best from 2013 for possible inclusion in the PlusOne Collection book. As always, it’s to raise money for charity, and make a darn gorgeous book of some of the best G+ photos from the past year.
Perhaps my personal favorite from 2013 will appear in this year’s edition?
