+Lauri Novak Thanks for asking.. My last surgery was in March. Since then we've been watching and waiting to make sure the retina stays attached this time. My eye is still filled with silicon oil, and my lens has been removed. I can see light and dark. If the retina behaves, they may give me an artificial lens in the summer, and swap the oil for saline. We still don't know what the final result might be. I do know that I've lost the upper third of the vision in that eye, since some of the retina was cut out due to scar tissue… in the meantime, I still wear my pirate patch most of the time since the incoherent light is really distracting. I'm still getting used to using my non-dominant eye. Reading is somewhat slower… but I'm adapting.
It looks like some forward progress has been made. All you can do is to keep moving forward. Given moving back in time is not possible, you are going to do just fine after all is said and done!
