Lovely Approach

———————————-
It was a beautiful approach to the Sacramento airport just as the front edge of a storm was approaching on Sunday…. quite a change from the weeks of clear-blue skies we've had lately.

Reshared post from +The Photoshop Show

Join Your Hosts +Jan Kabili  and +Ron Clifford   as we bring you  Fine Artist +Chris Meyer   for our 40th Episode of The Photoshop Show

In this hangout, Chris will share some of his source photography from the Four Corners region of the Southwest, and demonstrate how he uses Adobe Camera Raw to tease out their colors and contrast as well as abstract them pure shapes and forms. Chris will also discuss issues such as printing on usual papers and mounting the final works on cradled wooden panels instead of using traditional mats and frames.

After careers in the music and motion graphics industries, Chris Meyer has been turning his attention to fine art. He refers to his approach as “hybrid art” as it combines digital photography and printing with hand-manipulated collage and assemblage.

The live interactive chat will be here http://dbclick.org/1bdT1bJ

The YouTube Live hangout will be embedded right in this event on Tuesday at showtime.

A great circle full of active photography engagers… updated weekly!

Shared from +Christian Vollmar

Reshared post from +Photo Exchange Club

It's the new Pʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ ENGAGERS Cɪʀᴄʟᴇ!   [Sept 26, 2013]
Over 20,000 engagements so far in 2013, not including the 1000s of +1s to member comments and photos!

Public:  Just add this circle and enjoy the photos in your stream!

Participants: Do you qualify? >>http://goo.gl/pRqyxR
Create a "PEC Circle", add this new edition, view that stream and interact with the posts.  The better your relations are with the members, the more engagement you'll get back!  It works like a community, but with much more focused and condensed results.

Quick start instructions:
➀  Post a URL link to a recent G+ photo in the comments below,
➁  Check out photos from others and +1 and comment on them,
➂  Publicly share this circle-post, from a new friend's stream
➃  Add this circle  (replace it every week) and view the stream regularly.  The engagement you put in will come back to you x10!

The only required action is that you share a photo from your stream last week in the comments below.  All other engagement here has other, indirect benefits, and is your choice!

The optional Photo of the Week Contest that complements this photo share is here >>http://goo.gl/xrMRfw

Participation here qualifies you to enter the contest.  Last week's winner was +Markus Guhl, see his photo here >>http://goo.gl/xrMRfw.

The Biggest Ripple Award goes to  >>> +Miguel Almeida <<<  with a chain of 14 shares – a new record!!  Thanks to all those that helped: +Piedmont OuttaBounds, +Maria Blosser, +James Petruzzi, +Septimiu Catona, +Stefan Seidel, +Stefanie Schächtel, +Anders Stedtlund, +Pradeep Sanyal, +Heiko Köster, +Peter Grew, +Elizabeth Lund and +Septimiu Catona(x2) !!

Average Ripple length for the whole circle = 3.28!

See the Winners Photo Album >>http://goo.gl/prDTcA for Contest history!

On a personal note, the PEC numbers were lower last week, and I suddenly realized that I had not shared (with 2nd notification), so that was the main reason for the delay, and last minute re-share.  Sorry for any confusion!

I'd like to specifically invite our 'biggest' members to visit the PEC this week – the way that the new G+ metrics work, leaving your +1 and/or a comment makes a lot of difference as to the total number of users who see this post.  +Alan Shapiro +Robin Griggs Wood +Ron Clifford +Wick Sakit +Robert SKREINER  +Rodney Pike  This also ensures that you will stay in week to week!

Mystical Land of See Addle

——————————————
Ok…clearly I have been transported to a different world…this is not California.
Everywhere I look, I see green…and…wet.

I am starting to think that those crazy stories that I've heard about a mystical soggy land called "See Addle' are true…

The Thunderbird

——————————
If you have some spare time at Lake Tahoe, make sure to take the tour of the very unique Thunderbird Lodge on the east shore, where George Whittell once owned 40,000 acres (which explains why most of the east shore was never developed).

His lovingly restored 55-foot wooden speedboat has a history all its own (it was purchased from Whittell in 1962 by casino magnate William F. Harrah, and was used for high-roller fun on the lake by the likes of Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra and Bill Cosby).

It's now in the caring hands of the Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society, and they keep it in tip-top shape.

Another fabulous Chat with +Karen Hutton, chatting with the awesome +Laurie Rubin,…

Another fabulous Chat with +Karen Hutton, chatting with the awesome +Laurie Rubin, discussing her wildlife photography, and amazing moments of grace.
  Spend 15 minutes getting inspired!

Reshared post from +Karen Hutton

THE CHAT with Karen Hutton: +Laurie Rubin!!
On my blog: http://bit.ly/1aZiANw. And here, of course! 😀

Googler, Wildlife Photographer and +Nik Photography specialist +Laurie Rubin is my most special guest on this week's Chat!

Laurie's life IS her photographic art… in multiple ways. As a +Google+ Photos team member and NIK specialist, photography fills her work life. And on her time off… her heart and world is filled with taking photographs of animals and nature. Laurie is definitely happiest with a camera in her hands… and you can't believe the laserlike focus that descends upon her when she has one of her beloved critters in her crosshairs!

She shares the different aspects of her multifaceted life… and shares some of her stunning work – including the one that is hanging in the Smithsonian Institute for the next year!! She's my friend, my sister from another mother – and overall AWESOME²!

And oh my, the guesses flew! Several of you were right… nice going, +Veronique Aubois, +Alexis Coram, +Joe Frazee and everyone who scored the winning guess. I'll have to start making up prizes! Or tougher hints… heehee.

Happy Monday, everyone!!
