I love the castle courtyard in the evening. I could sit here and ponder times gone by for hours!
If you want a chance to see it  yourself, you need to visit when the sun goes down early so the lights come on before closing time.

You don't get a lot of days to catch the Great Hall festooned with evergreens! It's a beautiful sight at the +Castello di Amorosa in the Napa Valley. Wouldn't you love to have a banquet here?

Blooming Solstice

This is one of the Camellia blooms currently in my front yard…. it's just so weird to see shrubs full of buds and blooms at the beginning of winter. That's one of the things I love about California–no matter what time of year it is, it seems like something is blooming!

Campanile-a-Glow

Campanile is just a fancy word for bell tower… but this was the first time the church in my small town decided to light up the 140-ft-tall structure for Christmas, along with a live nativity scene, and, of course, caroling, cookies and hot chocolate.
