No, I can't recall ever uttering those words. Mom was, well… mom, and a fabulous one at that. She took such amazing care of us…It's been nearly 8 years since we lost her to an insidious disease, well before her time.
This was taken back when portraits were touched up by hand using Photoshop version N8 (N is for 'negative' 😉
High School Senior Portrait, 1949.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. Remind them MORE than once a year that you appreciate and love them, while you still have the opportunity!

Out and about in the Chattanooga area this weekend….but a trip too quick to even bother trying to adjust to the time zone…
… no pics of my own here yet, so I thought I'd share this nice one from +John Mack

Thrilled to have made 'honorable mention' for 'Regret' round of +Chrysta Rae's Photography Scavenger Hunt
The colors of this sunset caught me by surprise as I was making a long drive home, with just-right clouds and screaming green grass…so I pulled over to capture it…and then my heart sank.
I snapped this with my Android phone, then scrounged around to find a card in the camera bag…but by then, the best moments had passed.

I found another gem in the archives to share for this week's #blastfromthepast . This is about 1934. My mom (on the right, age 3) with her older sister holding new baby sister.
I'm so glad grandpa was a photo bug!

A repost for Mother's Day week.
I'm thankful that grandpa had the photo bug…we have a lot of pics of mom (who we lost in 2005)
Besides 35mm and medium format, he shot a lot of 16mm movie film.
This is 1934, at age 3.

A talented group of film & tv students here at the college where I work have assembled an awesome documentary about my back yard!
Shot on a Red Epic-M, a 5k resolution camera, The Valley looks gorgeous!
World premiere May 15 in the Cameo Cinema in St Helena.
Take a quick look at the trailer…

I imagine that in Whoville, this would be a 'normal' size, however, this blossom is less than 1/4 inch across, and pretty much invisible among the random blades of grass and fallen leaves next to my driveway.
Stooping down to mouse-eye level, there are hundreds of them…
