Roadside Greeter

——————————-
This little sunflower stuck its head right out toward the road where my wife & I take our daily walk. It had some huge, droopy, wilted relatives around and above…but it still gave us a bright cheery greeting.

Light From Within

——————————
The glow in the middle of these huge Morning Glories caught my eye…
From straight on, it seemed like there was a little light inside. The side view shows how the light gets in.

The Angel in the Orchid
———————————————–
While shooting some lovely phalaenopsis orchids, the outline of this angel caught my eye…so I thought I'd coax it out into the light…

Mom's Daisies, Take Two

——————————————–
I posted a practically SOOC shot of our front-yard daisies a bit earlier today for #floralfriday , but I thought I'd play a bit with some of what I learned about working with textures from +Mark Johnson during last week's episode of +The Photoshop Show .

You can watch that episode on +Ron Clifford's YouTube page at http://youtu.be/aay1vcXptF0
…and the original daisies shot is at https://plus.google.com/u/0/105845861210914905032/posts/LXn8AHVBjqR

Mom's Daisies

———————————-
I've never forgotten what +Colby Brown taught me…if you can't find inspiration in your back yard, you're not trying hard enough.
(In this case, it's my front yard)

I live in the home where my parents lived for 23 years…and they planted these daisies, which make their appearance at the end of the driveway each year without fail. Mom watered them faithfully, and they remind me of her whenever I arrive back home.

Whoville Transplant

———————–
I imagine that in Whoville, this would be a 'normal' size, however, this blossom is less than 1/4 inch across, and pretty much invisible among the random blades of grass and fallen leaves next to my driveway.

Stooping down to mouse-eye level, there are hundreds of them…

You Go Ahead…I'm Not Quite Ready

————————————————-
A bit late for this week's bud-themed  #macromonday , and a bit early for #floralfriday , but these caught my eye today, so I split the difference here midweek 🙂

These "Double Camellias" line the walkway in front of our house.
