…at least that is what I was thinking as I headed in to get my mail, but as I got closer, I realized it was a huge moth just hanging out next to the door.
To give you a sense of scale it's about 4 inches across.

   Today's #blastfromthepast  is from about 1934…my grandfather and my mom at an undisclosed beach.
   Honestly, I don't know who snapped the shutter, since grandpa did all the shooting…
   I wish I had known him…he was about as gadgeteerish as one could be in the '60s, but he died in 1966 when I was only 3. He would have loved the stuff we get to 'play' with today!

It's a bit of a scramble down a steep bank to get to Bonsai Rock on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe… but it is well worth the climb!
