I'm not usually a fan of airport art… much of it seems like a lot of money spent for "what the heck is that?"  …but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Samson 'sculpture' in Sacramento's Terminal A baggage claim area (there are two of these side by side)… 
It's my understanding that this was  built from real lost luggage, and I always wonder about the stories behind the people who used to own these…

…at least that is what I was thinking as I headed in to get my mail, but as I got closer, I realized it was a huge moth just hanging out next to the door.
To give you a sense of scale it's about 4 inches across.

Good Food…Fabulous Company

At the Cottonwood Restaurant, Truckee, CA.

My wife, +Susan Bell & I enjoyed yummy food, along with magnificent conversation with +Karen Hutton after taking in the glorious display of a thunderclouded sunset that unfolded over Karen's famous back-yard 'pond.'  
Can't wait for another opportunity to visit—here…or there!

A Backyard Stroll

A quick snap with my Android phone…

I'm fortunate to work at a small college with nearly 1,000 acres of undeveloped land that we're free to explore. It's full of miles of trails through the oak, manzanita, and madrone trees that make for a lovely afternoon stroll.
